Ironman Coeur D’Alene 2010

After 9 months of training….Ironman Coeur D’Alene finally arrived.
J and his friend Geoff both successfully finished with arms raised high.
I am so proud of both….it takes so much dedication, determination, and physical and mental strength to not only compete in an Ironman but to train for one. Well done!

Here’s a bit about our time in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho…

the boys practiced in the fridged but beautiful waters of Lake Coeur D’Alene (water was in the 50s)

While the boys practiced….Geoff’s family, Mom and Dad and I took a short hike on Tubb’s Hill

Geoff’s kids (Janie and Will)

CrossFit Des Moines Clip, J’s New Toy, & Ironman Time

First, congrats to Mike on the CrossFit Des Moines story last night on channel 13! You can see the clip HERE.
Really showed off Crossfit and all it has to offer….awesome workout, team atmosphere, goal accomplishment…

Everyone is very proud of you Coach Mike.

Second, while I was away getting my USATF level 1 certification in coaching J decided to buy himself a new toy….

so, sure……..I am really excited about it too:)
Actually, I can’t wait to get awesome sports shots and food pics!
It’s going to be like the food is right there is front of you.

Third, J and I leave tomorrow for
I think he is looking forward to finally racing after 9 months of grueling training.
Sunday will be a long day for him…2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run.
I am a proud wife.
We are also looking forward to vacationing around there….look how beautiful it is!
I apologize in advance, I will post recipes while on vacation but not as frequent.
Until next time…

Carbo-loaded!

Last weekend J needed to charge up for a BIG weekend of IRONMAN workouts.
Sat: Ran 20 miles, Biked 40 minutes
Sun: Biked 120 miles (I biked 60 miles with him…wahoo!)

Now you see the necessity of a good quality dinner on Friday! He was about to burn through endless cals and carb stores….
so if food is medicine….here’s his ibuprofen…PASTA!

ground turkey breast with HyVee organic sauce because this is one of the lowest in added sugars (or make your own!)
ALWAYS add a gazillion veggies…bell peppers, corn, broccoli, grated carrots or zucchini, etc.
whole wheat noodles cooked al dente and viola!

YUM YUM!

pasta and wine…it’s like peanut butter and jelly…it belongs together
Until next time…
